Muru de is Bangius, Marrubb

The Praetorium di Muru de is Bangius is a Roman palazzo with private thermal baths used by the governor of Sardinia. This attribution was confirmed with the discovery of an inscription.
It was built between the II and III centuries A.D., but was partially used and modified up until as late as the VI century A.D.

The main building measuring 26.67 by 21.80 m, has a central courtyard with porticoes and 16 rooms stemming off it.
The remains of the private baths are worth mentioning as they still preserve part of the polychrome mosaics.

Not far away, an isolated building sticks out in the countryside, perhaps a small temple or a funeral monument.
There are plans to open a small museum in the modern building adjacent to the excavation.
