Domus de janas Succoronis, Macomer

Domus de janas Succoronis, Macomer

Near the Nuraghe of the same name is a domus de janas, whose entrance, however, is blocked.

It is in precarious condition. Currently, the inside can be accessed from an open passage in the ceiling of the second cell. Inside, it is full of rubble and cannot be visited, although the attention to detail in the finishing of the two rooms decorated with half-pillars and interconnecting via an elegant, moulded arch can be observed. It definitely has two cells arranged on a vertical axis. The entrance is not visible because it is blocked by the external deposits.

The monument is clearly visible and easy to reach along the SS 129 bis towards Bosa. It is worth pointing out the danger of accessing it directly, so it is a good idea to leave your car in the clearing of the abandoned Anas tollbooth near the turning point for Pozzomaggiore, about one hundred metres from the nuraghe.
