A prehistoric necropolis was built on a rocky outcrop on the edges of the modern part of Villanova Monteleone.
It has two complete Domus de Janas, and traces of another two, whose construction was perhaps interrupted for unknown reasons.
The larger tomb has a small entrance door, like a lot of these tombs. On entering, you come to an anti-cell which acts as a vestibule, onto which open out two cells for the collective depositions.
The other simpler tomb is currently surrounded by the wall of an abandoned sheep pen. In this case, the small door provides access to the anti-cell, which in turn provides access to the single cell.
Following the SS 292 towards Villanova Monteleone, at km 28.900, the Domus de Janas can be seen on the left (South), on a small crag, about 100 m from the A77 road.
