Di Santu Antine Nuragic Compound

Cronologia: Nuragico

Complesso nuragico Di Santu Antine, Torralba

This is the largest and best preserved of all the nuraghe in Sardinina, displaying a complex and incredible architectural fabric, the high point of skilful nuraghe construction techniques.

On the outside, we find a village inhabited from the late Nuraghe period up until the Middle Ages.
The main monument consists of a large central tower with two floors still intact, and the third one preserved only on the lower part.
The imposing triangular defence wall surrounding the tower creates a spectacular ring-shaped corridor, cleverly enhanced by a modern lighting system. Incredibly, even the first floor of this corridor, which would originally have been covered, is preserved.

Exit the SS 131 trunk road at the fork for Thiesi-SS 131bis, and follow the country road, SP 21-Scalo Ferroviario di Torralba. There is a lane on the right after about 2 km, near the site’s welcome centre, which leads to the nuraghe.
