The Malchittu compound is a plateau settlement dominating the granite stone plateau of the same name.
It is a monumental compound with a hut which controlled access to the plateau, where there was a small temple protected by the Nuraghe and by a city wall. Completing the context was a large number of tafoni for residential and funerary purposes.
The small temple appears to be well preserved. The chamber with rectangular apsal layout, preceded by a quadrangular atrium, was presumably covered by a double pitch wooden roof.
Inside the chamber you can see four niches, seats, counters and a circular fireplace in the centre of the room, used for the rituals performed there.
Starting in Arzachena, follow the trunk road SS 125 towards Olbia for around 600 m. At Nuraghe Albucciu leave the car in the car park provided. Follow the signs for around 1.5 km along an uphill path until you come to the top where you will come to the monument.
