The San Pietro Nuraghe stands at the top of a hill right outside the town of Ussaramanna.
Four separate excavations have partly brought to light the original layout of the compound, made up of a central tower surrounded by a stronghold with straight curtain walls and four towers that are almost equidistant.
Currently, a large part of the central tower is preserved with a circular room, now with no roof; off the entry corridor, a partially covered stairway extends along the wall mass, of which a few steps have survived. Outside of the imposing building, new and old excavations have uncovered rectangular rooms whose layout probably dates to the Roman era.
