Nuraghe Serucci, Gonnesa

The Nuragic complex of Seruci, which, together with its village, extends for over five hectares taking in at least one Tomb of the Giants stands out on the plateau dominating the surrounding area as far as the sea.

The Nuraghe is in reasonably good condition and had a central tower and five or six side towers.
The central tower was set out over three levels, one on top of the other. It is still possible to visit various cells inside where probable traces of a cork insulation coating can be seen on the floor. One of the rooms on the first floor still preserves intact the tholos ceiling.
The village is one of the most important on the island, with more than one hundred huts divided into six blocks, a main square probably used for trading, a temple and hut for meetings. In addition, the huts are internally arranged into different rooms separated by walls, a kind of evolution of the classic design of a Nuragic hut.

Take the provincial road SP 108 from Gonnesa towards Portoscuro for about 3 km. At the fork with the signs for the Nuraghe, turn left and continue on for about 700 m.
