Just behind the town of Ussaramanna, the Nuraghe San Pietro is a large Nuragic monument. It has four towers, one of which has a large diameter (13 m) while around 12 m of its original height is still standing. A rectilinear courtain wall brings together the different parts creating an internal courtyard, which is currently still obstructed by the collapsed rubble. The use of a mixed technique, with both huge boulders and square blocks, made the overall project very eye catching. The archaeological excavations carried out at the site have brought to light a Roman village, subsequently also used in the Byzantine era.
