The Nuraghe Loelle stands on the Buddusò plateau, in an area with granite rock outcrop. The shape of the Nuraghe was heavily influenced by the presence of these outcrops which are incorporated into the structure. The blocks used to build the Nuraghe are also granite.
A door with architrave provides access to the monument. The interior arrangement is surprising with its numerous levels, featuring different corridors and staircases that can still be climbed, and rooms which are mainly semi-circular. At the top, resting on a rock, stands a tower nowadays with no roof. In the lower part, on the other hand, a separate room, accessible from the outside via an entrance with architrave, opens out at about a metre in depth from ground level. Most likely this was storage room.
Take the SS 131 towards the town centre and continue as far as Bitti, to reach the Nuraghe. Go through the town and continue along the SS 389 towards Buddusò and, at about 10 km from the town, the Nuraghe is clearly visible on your right. VIDEO
