The Nuraghe Costa can be found in the heart of the Foresta Burgos, a natural oasis in the middle of Sardinia. Covered in a blanket of incredibly green moss, it stands at the top of an 800-metre-high elevation.

The Nuraghe consists of a central tower (fortified tower), a stronghold with four secondary towers and an internal courtyard.

The central tower, in basalt blocks, overlooks the almost semicircular internal courtyard. The courtyard probably provided access to the four secondary towers.
A village extended around the fortress, originally with numerous huts, only two of which are just about distinguishable in the middle of the thick vegetation, both of them circular and in blocks of basalt.

The imposing defence wall is the element that makes this monument unique on the island. This is a defence wall structure with no towers, built using enormous, embedded masses. A 60-meter stretch with wall walk has survived to the current day.

The site is about 10 km from the town of Burgos. Take the country road SP101 and turn left towards the Foresta Burgos along the SP43. From the hamlet of Foresta Burgos follow the road signs to reach the Nuraghe Costa; once you reach the Costa stables, leave your car and continue on foot along a path on the left; you’ll come to a fork where you should take the path on your right. Once you reach the drywall with wooden gate, the Nuragic complex will appear not far off (about one hundred metres) amidst the thick undergrowth.
