This is a very interesting monument representing a connection point between the Corridor Nuraghe or Protonuraghe and the tholos one. The compound was created over three different construction stages and currently displays a central tower with terrace, a stronghold and various huts partly located inside and partly outside the defence wall.
The monument is under a viaduct, and just a few centimetres separate the remaining upper part of the monument from the cement girders supporting the road, so the overall view is compromised.
There is currently a project underway funded by the Ministry for Culture aimed at returning the monumental compound to the people, encompassing it within a large exhibiting room to isolate it as much as possible from the presence of the road structures, by recreating a direct access to the area and by redesigning new traffic circulation, parking and green space. The entire museum space will be fitted out with state-of-the-art museography and multimedia systems.
On leaving Olbia head towards Costa Smeralda and the Nuraghe is under the viaduct of the western ring-road.
