Nuraghe Asoru

The monument lies in a valley dip surrounded by high grounds which slope down towards the Colostrai sea, at a height of 32 m a.s.l.

This is a Nuraghe compound made up of a central tower and a three-foil fortress with concave-convex profile and a small internal courtyard. The main tower or fortified tower reaches a residual height of 12 metres. The fortress stands at a height of around 5 m and is built differently from the fortified tower; its blocks have been more carefully carved and the layout in rows is more even. The original entrance to the fortified tower is blocked because of collapsed material. The tower is only accessible through one of the openings in the structure. The walls visible inside the room are probably those of the external face, given that the internal one has mostly collapsed. There are a number of openings in the fortified tower and fortress whose use is unknown.

From Cagliari, follow the SS 554. Not far from Quartucciu, after the first fork, firstly turn right then left on the flyover and take the SS 125. The only towns you go through are San Gregorio and San Priamo. Just before Muravera, at km 51, next to the SS 125, the monument is clearly marked and easy to reach.
