Villaggio nuragico di S. Vittoria Serri

An extensive compound of buildings in an area of around 4 hectares, in an evocative context on the Serri plateau.

Close to the small church of the same name, there are numerous preserved ruins from the nuragic civilisation including a corridor nuraghe followed by a tholos nuraghe, the village with all its various community amenities including the so-called enclosure for festivals and federal meetings, the holy well and the so-called hypaethral temple, which gives the area a mainly sacred definition; the chief’s house stands isolated to the north, alongside the city wall. A number of bronze statues uncovered in the area.

A village from the Roman Era has also been recorded on the plateau, above the nuraghe buildings.

Follow the Santa Vittoria track from Serri and you’ll find the site after about 4 km .
