The archaeological site is home to a series of very interesting prehistoric and nuragic monuments. The incredible concentration of male and female betyls, the latter ones showing the breast, recognised all over the world.
The large number of Nuragic findings at Macomer also mean that three important examples of huge tombs can also be visited. Two of them fully identifiable in their shape, even without the roof.
A little further on, is a Nuraghe compound, built making use of an outcrop of natural rock. The ruins of a nuragic village, later inhabited in other eras, is visible nearby. The site offers parking and a services centre.
Follow the country road, S.P.43 in the direction of Santulussurgiu, then take the road on the right towards the Monte S.Antonio park, clearly marked with road signs. There is a fork at 1,200 m with directions for the Tamuli archaeological site. Continue for another 5 km until you reach a car park leading to the supervised area.
