Spiaggia del Cavaliere, Isola di Budelli, Arcipelago di La Maddalena

The Cavaliere Beach can be found on the Island of Budelli, in the La Maddalena Archipelago, to the north of Sardinia near the areas of the Strait of Bonifacio.

The beach takes up the northeastern patch of the Island of Budelli overlooking the stretch of sea enclosed by the nearby Islands of Razzoli and Santa Maria, known as the Porto della Madonna.
The position of the three islands is the origin of this stretch, protected against currents, creating a kind of natural pool with an intense blue colour, like the “Madonna’s veil”.

The beach stretches for around 200 metres, on a strip of fine, clear-coloured sand which is 5 metres wide. Surrounded by reddish granite rocks and reefs, the seabed is sandy and not very deep. There is a small wetland behind it.

Falling within the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park, the “Cavaliere” can be reached on private or rented boats, though proper authorisation is required to drop anchor.
Passengers on authorised boats can disembark on a rocky landing area from where a path leads off into the middle of the Mediterranean shrub leading to the shoreline.
