Sardinia’s Butterfly House is situated in the countryside of Olmedo, and is a theme park covering around 5 hectares, just a few kilometres from Alghero.
The Butterfly House is immersed in the colours and scents of Mediterranean vegetation and is the park’s hub and main attraction. This is the only biosphere in Sardinia where several hundred tropical butterflies fly and reproduce. The ideal temperatures and humidity levels allow for the development and growth of numerous tropical plants, originally from different countries around the world, which make it the ideal habitat for tropical butterflies and insects.
As well as the helichrysum and wayfaring trees, the park also hosts a collection of roses carefully attended to and in bloom in the period when the park is open.
