The Gentilis Park is located in the municipal area of Guspini, in the province of South Sardinia.
The area extends for around 10 km northeast of the town covering around 885 hectares. The scenery takes in Monte Linas, in a valley on the slopes of the Cuccuru Gutturu Ortigu hill, (454 m a.s.l.), crossed by the river of the same name, rio Gutturu Ortigu.
The flora features a holm oak forest and Aleppo pines planted as part of reforestation work. The Mediterranean shrub is dominated by strawberry trees. In the areas higher up, the shrub makes way for garigue. In the past, the area was used for the production of wood for burning.
There are a number of different animal species in the park including boar, martens, garden dormice, weasels, foxes, wild cats, rabbits, hares and porcupines. The birds include the peregrine falcon or, the European roller, the buzzard, sparrowhawk and partridge.
Parco Gentilis also offers an equipped area with tables and benches and there is no shortage of water points.
