Parco Nervi, Cagliari

The Parco del Nervi is an extensive green area with walks and cycle paths.

The area features a bridge which joins the two sides of the San Bartolomeo canal. The park lies around the Nervi Pavilion, designed by the architect Pierluigi Nervi in the mid-1900s. Nervi devised the structure to improve the salt extraction and storage system from the nearby saline di Molentargius. The pavilion, now closed to the public, dominates the entire park and surrounding canals.

Located in the Sant’Elia neighbourhood, originally inhabited by the fishermen in Cagliari, the park was opened in July 2021. Its purpose is to link the neighbourhood with the rest of the town centre via the bridge and to modernise the area which was completely abandoned up until a few years ago.
