The rio Su Entale can be found a few kilometres from the town of Padria. To the west, it marks the border between the Municipality of Meilogu and the towns of Bosa and Montresta, as well as the border between the province of Sassari and Oristano.
The river is a tributary of the river Temo which starts on the Monte Calarighe, in the municipality of Villanova Monteleone, and flows into Bosa.
The narrow fluvial gorge is accessible along trekking paths, which can be admired from the ancient Sa Entale bridge on the Montresta-Padria road. To reach the gorge from here, take the cart track through a forest of holm oak and downy oak until you reach the Sos Aspros plateau, a panoramic spot where you can visit an ancient shepherd’s village. From here, the path continues eastwards until you reach the Sa Entale point and then you descend until you come to the first waterfall.
The site is part of the Sites of Community Importance (SCI) “Hinterland and coastal area between Bosa, Capo Marargiu and Porto Tangone” (ITB020041), regulated by the Rete Natura 2000.
