The Bacu Sa Figu Gorge can be found in Talana, in the province of Nuoro.
It is a long, easy-to-reach canyon, full of delightful features, in a wild, natural environment. The gorge has been carved out of porphyry and phyllites, typical rocks found in the Gennargentu, by the flow of surface water from the river of the same name, at an average height which flows down from 650 to 500 m a.s.l.
The vegetation surrounding the gorge is characteristic Mediterranean shrub with the presence of typical wetland essences such as oleander.
At the top of the Baccu Sa Figu gorge, we find the Su Chirridoiu belvedere which is difficult to reach (646 m a.s.l.), offering a view over the canyon.
The Baccu sa Figu river flows seasonally. The water generally flows in the period of May-June, depending on rainfall in Springtime.
The gorge attracts trekking and canyoning enthusiasts, considered by experts in the sector as one of the most complete and interesting gorges in Sardinia.
