Spiaggia di Feraxi, Muravera (SU)

Feraxi is an area along the coast of Muravera, in the historical region of Sarrabus, in the province of Sud Sardegna.

The wetland is part of the Colostrai pond system, linked to the reclamation work in the area and deviation of the Rio Picocca, which took place between 1945-50.
Nowadays, this area is a natural habitat for different aquatic birds such as cormorants, black-winged stilts and pink flamingos.

The beach extends for almost 3 kilometres, cordoned off to the south by the rocky coast of the Capo Ferrato promontory and its coves, and to the north by the Feraxi Pond outlet.
The sandy shore features cream-coloured fine sand, with shades of bronze, surrounded by low dunes. The seabeds are low and gently slope out to sea.

The beach offers parking, a kiosk-bar and bathing facilities. There is also an area set aside for nudists, which extends for around 400 metres along the shoreline.

The beach is part of the Site of Community Importance (SCI) “Stagni di Colostrai e delle Saline” (ITB040019), regulated by the Rete Natura 2000.
