Cala Fuili is the last beach in the district of Cala Gonone, part of the municipality of Dorgali, situated in the Golfo di Orosei.
The small beach presents a clear-coloured large sand grain and shingle, interspersed with boulders and rocks. The seabed is shallow and the sea water transparent in various shades of green and turquoise.
Behind the beach, in the middle of mastic tree, juniper and Mediterranean shrub plants, the outlet of the Codula Fuili opens up. This is a typical karstic gorge, with high limestone walls, at times vertical, and popular with climbing enthusiasts.
The beach can be reached easily via the 26 bis road which, from Cala Gonone, heads south, and ends precisely at Cala Fuili, passing another small beach known as Ziu Martine.
At the end of the road, we find steps dug out of the rock which continue with a path, surrounded by Mediterranean shrub bushes, which extend as far as the beach.
The beach also appears in scenes in the film “Travolti da un insolito destino nell’azzurro mare d’agosto” (1974), written and directed by Lina Wertmuller, and interpreted by Mariangela Melato and Giancarlo Giannini.
Cala Fuili and the Codula Fuili are part of the Sites of Community Importance (SCI) “Golfo di Orosei” (ITB020014) regulated by the Rete Natura 2000.
