The Viale Europa Belvedere can be found at the top of the Monte Urpinu hill, in Cagliari within the Metropolitan City. The hill reaches a height of around 98 m a.s.l. and is one of the seven hills on which Sardinia’s capital city stands.
The hill is home to the Monte Urpinu city park extending for 350,000 square metres, including the panoramic route of Viale Europa with its Belvedere.
From here, you have a view of almost the entire city and beyond.
To the south-east, the view overlooks the Golfo degli Angeli, with the Sella del Diavolo, the Stagno di Molentargius and the Saline and Spiaggia del Poetto. To the north-west, the Castello di San Michele, on the hill of the same name, and the historical neighbourhoods of Villanova and Castello can be seen. Looking south-westwards you’ll see the neighbourhood of Marina, the port, the Stagno di Cagliari and beyond to the Monti di Capoterra.
This is a unique view, and you can be sure of a magnificent sight at any time of the day. The site also has two binoculars fitted on platforms to get a better view.
