The s’Architteddu Lupiru natural arch can be found along the trekking trail running from Supramonte di Baunei to Cala Luna, in the Golfo di Orosei.
Along the trail, almost out of the blue, the magnificent Arco di Lupiru appears, at a height of around 345 m a.s.l., in all its magnificence. The huge arch crosses the typical limestone rock found in these mountains, providing a unique panoramic view.
The surrounding vegetation is the one typically found on the Supramonte, with its juniper, mastic tree, holm oaks, oleanders and the other species of Mediterranean shrub.
This stretch of the trail can be covered with suitable hiking equipment and carries on with a continuous slope as far as the cove.
Going a bit further on, you can reach the limestone ridges of s’Arcada (around 290 m a.s.l.), to the south of Punta is Giroves (248 m a.s.l.). From here you can still admire the magnificent panoramas between the sea and mountain.
The arch is part of the Sites of Community Importance (SIC) “Golfo di Orosei” (ITB020014), regulated by the Rete Natura 2000.
