Guardia dei Mori is the highest peak on Isola di San Pietro, in Carloforte.
Also known as Bricco di Guardia dei Mori, this peak reaches a height of 211 m a.s.l., offering a panoramic view over the entire island, in every direction.
Indeed, the remains of an old lookout post can be found here, partially still used for fire prevention surveillance. From the lookout, you can observe not only the island but also the entire San Pietro canal, open sea and survey part of the coast of San Antioco and Sulcis.
The mountain is home to a vast forest of pinus pinaster dating back to the reforestation work carried out in the 1960s. In the shadow of the pine forest, you can observe other bush plant species of Mediterranean shrub such as mastic tree, phillyrea and strawberry tree, which cover the view with different shades of green.
The pine forest is easy to reach and offers hospitality structures and tourist activities.
