The beach at Cala Burantinu (also known as Cala Burantino or Cala Burantì) sits to the north-west of Sardinia, in an area known as “Riviera del Corallo“, in the municipality of Alghero. The small beach extends for an overall expanse of about 75 metresand an average depth of around 15 metres.
The sandy shore has a very fine yellow sand, alternating with the presence of different sized blocks, detached from the small cliff of sandstone which surrounds the cove. The sea is a turquoise blue, with a mainly sandy seabed, which reduces with low slope, and the presence of sandstone rocks. The vegetation surrounding the beach is typical of Mediterranean shrub. There are rockrose, heather, wild rosemary, juniper, euphorbia, myrtle, strawberry tree and broom plants.
Unfortunately, access to the cove is difficult due to numerous private properties in the hinterland. The site can be reached by trekking along the coast or directly accessing it from the sea.
