Cattedrale della Madonna Immacolata, Bosa

The Sa Costa neighbourhood can be found in the heart of Bosa’s old town centre and has changed very little down through the ages; the oldest part dates back to the XIII century.

The neighbourhood is almost a village within a village and starts at the Castello dei Malaspina and extends as far as via del Carmine; it has four main streets which follow the shape and curve of the hill.

Quaint features of the neighbourhood include the cobbled lanes, with trachyte stairways called S’Iscala Longa to the west near Piazza Carmine, and S’Iscala e sa Rosa to the east, leading to Piazza Episcopio. Its buildings are painted in pastel shades with two exposures, one uphill and the other facing the river with pink trachyte doorways.
