Historical Centre, Carloforte

Bearing witness to the city’s Ligurian origins, the historical centre of Carloforte, enclosed in the upper area inside the defence walls, also features the stunning XVIII and XIX-century buildings – built when the town expanded beyond the walls – and the Battellieri seafront.

Carloforte was established in 1738, as a built-up area inside a Castle, with a curtain wall, interspersed with six defence bastions.
