Church of Santa Vittoria, Tissi

The Church of Santa Vittoria can be found in Tissi.

The title is mentioned in the Condaghe di San Michele di Salvenero (XII-XIII centuries).

The church was built in the second half of the XII century. The interior has a single nave and originally had a wooden roof and semi-circular apse.

In the XVII century, the structure was re-built with fully central barrel vaults, quadrangular presbytery, side chapels and bell gable.

The facade with its medium-sized limestone ashlars with dark basaltic trachyte inserts is all that remains of the Romanesque building. The facade has no corner blocks and has fine double ferule semi-circular small arches decorated with phyto-animal shaped motifs.

The portal has architrave with semi-circular lunette, with alternating trachyte and limestone ashlars.
