{"id":32827,"date":"2023-12-19T17:06:48","date_gmt":"2023-12-19T16:06:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/place\/church-of-san-gavino\/"},"modified":"2023-12-19T17:06:48","modified_gmt":"2023-12-19T16:06:48","slug":"church-of-san-gavino","status":"publish","type":"place","link":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/en\/place\/church-of-san-gavino\/","title":{"rendered":"Church of San Gavino"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>church of San Gavino<\/strong> can be found in <strong>Gavoi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The structure is <strong>late Gothic in Sardinian-Catalan style,<\/strong> popular in the south of the island between the <strong>XVI and XVII centuries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In the middle of the facade<\/strong>, in pink trachyte, a <strong>manneristic style portal<\/strong> opens up. The portal has semi columns either side with Corinthian capitals and is decorated with angel heads. The portal\u2019s structure ends with a split curved gable.<\/p>\n<p>There is also an <strong>imposing rose window<\/strong> on the facade featuring a perforated, fish-bone splay and a sunburst of small columns.<\/p>\n<p>The quadrangular <strong>bell tower<\/strong> is completed with Gothic arches.
