{"id":32823,"date":"2023-12-19T17:06:47","date_gmt":"2023-12-19T16:06:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/place\/church-of-santantonio-di-salvenero\/"},"modified":"2023-12-19T17:06:47","modified_gmt":"2023-12-19T16:06:47","slug":"church-of-santantonio-di-salvenero","status":"publish","type":"place","link":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/en\/place\/church-of-santantonio-di-salvenero\/","title":{"rendered":"Church of Sant&#8217;Antonio di Salvenero"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The<strong> Church of Sant\u2019Antonio <\/strong>can be found in <strong>Ploaghe<\/strong>, where the <strong>rural location of the village of Salvennero<\/strong> originally stood, <strong>abandoned at the <\/strong><strong>end of the XVIII century<\/strong><strong>. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It stands <strong>not far from the Vallombrosian abbey of <a href=\"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/place\/chiesa-di-san-michele-di-salvenero\/\">San Michele<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The title is not to be found in any Medieval documents.<\/p>\n<p>The church has a <strong>single nave with south-easterly apse<\/strong>. It <strong>features<\/strong> <strong>alternating rows of limestone and red trachyte<\/strong>, which date it to around the <strong>first quarter of the XIII century<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It could be attributable to the <strong>same workforce which built the <a href=\"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/place\/chiesa-di-santa-maria-maddalena-orria-piccinna\/\">Santa Maria di Orria Piccinna<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>side parts<\/strong> were built during the <strong>XVIII century<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>facade<\/strong> features an eyebrow portal and rectangular window, probably dating from the Aragonese period.
