{"id":32809,"date":"2023-12-19T17:06:38","date_gmt":"2023-12-19T16:06:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/place\/campeda-plateau\/"},"modified":"2023-12-19T17:06:38","modified_gmt":"2023-12-19T16:06:38","slug":"campeda-plateau","status":"publish","type":"place","link":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/en\/place\/campeda-plateau\/","title":{"rendered":"Campeda Plateau"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the region of Marghine, to the north-west of the town of Macormer, lies the <strong>Plateau of Campeda.<\/strong><br \/>\nThe entire area is part of the <strong>Sites of Community Importance<\/strong> (SCI) \u201c<strong>Altopiano di Campeda<\/strong>\u201d (ITB021101), regulated by the <strong>Rete Natura2000<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThis plateau reaches heights of <strong>650 m. a.s.l.<\/strong> and is geologically made up of <strong>basaltic rocks<\/strong> from the Plio-Pleistocene era.<br \/>\nIts geographical position offers it unique climatic conditions, making it one of the coldest areas on the island, despite it being under 1,000 m a.s.l.<\/p>\n<p>The land features a kind of <strong>herbaceous vegetation<\/strong> more than <strong>80% of which are steppes<\/strong>.<br \/>\nOne of the most important natural features is the presence of <strong>stagnant wells<\/strong> and <strong>rivers<\/strong> where <strong>White water-crowfoot<\/strong> and other species of <strong>aquatic plants<\/strong> grow.<br \/>\nThe forest aspect is limited to mixed grazing with the presence of <strong>downy oak<\/strong> and <strong>holm oak<\/strong> trees.<\/p>\n<p>From a <strong>fauna<\/strong> point of view, the SCI is of particular significance as it is a breeding site for the <strong>meadow cockerel<\/strong>, a species protected under the <strong>Birds Directive<\/strong> (79\/409\/EEC), and considered at risk of extinction.<\/p>\n<p>The area also features different <strong>archaeological sites<\/strong> from the <strong>Nuragic period<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The site is easily accessible from the neighbouring towns of Sindia, Macomer and Bortigali<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":6,"featured_media":26438,"template":"","tipologia":[1036],"categoria":[1022],"tematica":[1031],"class_list":["post-32809","place","type-place","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","tipologia-plateau","categoria-naturalistic-asset","tematica-nature"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.13 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Campeda Plateau - Idese<\/title>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1\" \/>\n<link rel=\"canonical\" href=\"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/place\/campeda-plateau\/\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"en_GB\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"Campeda Plateau - Idese\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"In the region of Marghine, to the north-west of the town of Macormer, lies the Plateau of Campeda.
