{"id":30125,"date":"2023-09-26T13:30:36","date_gmt":"2023-09-26T11:30:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/place\/foresta-di-monte-pisanu\/"},"modified":"2023-09-26T13:30:36","modified_gmt":"2023-09-26T11:30:36","slug":"foresta-di-monte-pisanu","status":"publish","type":"place","link":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/en\/place\/foresta-di-monte-pisanu\/","title":{"rendered":"Foresta di Monte Pisanu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>State-owned Forest of Monte Pisanu<\/strong> lies between the areas of <strong>Bottida<\/strong> and <strong>Bono<\/strong>, in the province of <strong>Sassari<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The area has been state-owned since <strong>1886<\/strong> and covers an area of <strong>2,210.4 hectares<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>forest<\/strong> is part of the historical region of <strong>Goceano<\/strong>, an area full of <strong>forests<\/strong> and <strong>areas of natural importance<\/strong>.<br \/>\nMore specifically, <strong>Monte Pisanu<\/strong> has <strong>centuries-old English yew<\/strong>, <strong>rare flora endemisms<\/strong>, <strong>woods<\/strong> of <strong>downy oak<\/strong> and mixed forest formations of <strong>holm oak<\/strong> and <strong>cork oak<\/strong>.<br \/>\nIt is precisely the <strong>downy oak<\/strong> which dominates the landscape, reaching the highest points in excess of 1,000 m a.s.l.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>forest<\/strong> is populated with <strong>different animal species<\/strong> including different <strong>reptiles<\/strong> and <strong>amphibians<\/strong>. The <strong>mammal<\/strong> species include <strong>boar<\/strong>, <strong>foxes<\/strong>, <strong>weasels<\/strong>, <strong>hares<\/strong>, <strong>garden dormice<\/strong> and <strong>porcupines<\/strong>. <strong>Bird species<\/strong> include specimens of <strong>goshawk<\/strong>, <strong>sparrowhawk<\/strong>, <strong>buzzard<\/strong>, <strong>kestrel<\/strong>, <strong>peregrine falcon<\/strong> and <strong>common raven<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sos Nibberos<\/strong>, an area populated by <strong>thousand-year old English yew<\/strong>, was declared <strong>a natural monument<\/strong> (Regional Decree no. 24 of 29 January 1994 by the Regional Department for the Environmental Protection of the Sardinian Region).<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>forestry house<\/strong> is home to the <strong>Service Centre<\/strong> providing support on <strong>environmental education<\/strong> and a <strong>visit to the forest<\/strong>, and where it is possible to find all the relative information regarding the area.<\/p>\n<p>The forest is part of the <strong>Site of Community Importance<\/strong> (SCI) &#8220;<strong>Catena del Marghine and del Goceano<\/strong>&#8221; (ITB011102) regulated by the <strong>Rete Natura 2000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":6,"featured_media":28557,"template":"","tipologia":[1034],"categoria":[1022],"tematica":[1031],"class_list":["post-30125","place","type-place","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","tipologia-forest","categoria-naturalistic-asset","tematica-nature"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.13 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Foresta di Monte Pisanu - Idese<\/title>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1\" \/>\n<link rel=\"canonical\" href=\"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/place\/foresta-di-monte-pisanu\/\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"en_GB\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"Foresta di Monte Pisanu - Idese\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"The State-owned Forest of Monte Pisanu lies between the areas of Bottida and Bono, in the province of Sassari.
