{"id":29993,"date":"2023-09-15T11:30:14","date_gmt":"2023-09-15T09:30:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/place\/tomba-di-giganti-di-imbertighe\/"},"modified":"2023-09-15T13:06:10","modified_gmt":"2023-09-15T11:06:10","slug":"tomba-di-giganti-di-imbertighe","status":"publish","type":"place","link":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/en\/place\/tomba-di-giganti-di-imbertighe\/","title":{"rendered":"Tomba di giganti di Imbertighe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The tomb of the giants of Imbertighe lies just outside the town of <strong>Borore<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Experts who uncovered it between the XIX and the start of the XX century found it almost intact and described its <strong>long tomb<\/strong> with funeral chamber and wide exedra.<\/p>\n<p>The exedra currently preserves only the wings in basalt blocks, while nothing remains of the funeral chamber. However, the monument preserves its charm thanks to the <strong>beautiful, curved stele<\/strong>, whose <strong>careful workmanship catches the eye<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The monolithic stele is 3.65 m high in an almost elliptical shape, with the typical <strong>flat relief frame<\/strong> which cuts off in the lower part, where it joins with the monolith base.<br \/>\nThe facade is split into three parts: the base, smooth and thicker preserves the <strong>quadrangular door with rounded upper corners<\/strong> in the centre; the trapezoidal middle frame and the upper lunette separated by the <strong>transversal listel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>About 200 metres to the east of the tomb, you\u2019ll find the Nuraghe of the same name, but only a few rows of blocks have survived.<\/p>\n<p>From the country road SP 66 at the entrance to the Borore turn right towards Sedilo, after passing the railway bridge, turn right at the tourist road sign.
