{"id":29743,"date":"2023-08-10T10:01:16","date_gmt":"2023-08-10T08:01:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/place\/nuraghe-lugherras\/"},"modified":"2023-11-22T12:48:15","modified_gmt":"2023-11-22T11:48:15","slug":"nuraghe-lugherras","status":"publish","type":"place","link":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/en\/place\/nuraghe-lugherras\/","title":{"rendered":"Nuraghe Lugherras"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Nuraghe compound consists of <strong>a central tower<\/strong> which stands more than <strong>10 m<\/strong> above the centuries-old downy oak forest surrounding it.<\/p>\n<p>A second structure was added to the main one, which wrapped round it and consisted of<strong> three towers and a courtyard<\/strong>, joined by a <strong>continuous wall<\/strong>. Despite being the focus of scientific explorations from the start of the 1900s,<strong> extensive ruins<\/strong> are still visible, especially on the outside of the buildings. It owes its name to a<strong> holy well from the Punic era<\/strong>, found inside and which in turn held numerous<strong> lanterns<\/strong> (in local dialect \u201clugherras\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>From Paulilatino, take the country road SP65 for about 3.5 km then turn left to stay on the SP65, and continue for a further 700 m.
