{"id":29596,"date":"2023-08-03T11:43:47","date_gmt":"2023-08-03T09:43:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/place\/nuraghe-pontes\/"},"modified":"2023-11-06T12:14:18","modified_gmt":"2023-11-06T11:14:18","slug":"nuraghe-pontes","status":"publish","type":"place","link":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/en\/place\/nuraghe-pontes\/","title":{"rendered":"Nuraghe Pontes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Nuraghe Pontes can be found on the Pranu Ozzastru plateau, an area with rivers and full of archaeological findings.<\/p>\n<p>It is an imposing single tower marked by a<strong> monumental entry architrave <\/strong>possibly weighing <strong>around 16-17 tons<\/strong>. The latter was carefully worked on with the exposed facade made slightly curved to follow the circular flow of the tower, which rests on two jambs, both of which are also extremely large.<\/p>\n<p>A <strong>maximum height of 11.80 m<\/strong> of the circular <strong>tower<\/strong> <strong>have been preserved <\/strong>with 21 rows which, in the first seven metres starting from ground level, consist of poorly worked large blocks. At the top, on the other hand, the stonework was gradually refined and they reduce in size as far as the level of the large window. In correspondence with this large window, the ashlars regain volume, while still preserving an accurate workmanship which is decidedly isodomic on the last few remaining rows.<br \/>\nThe intact <strong>tholos<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>in the first room <strong>reaches a height of 8.60 metres<\/strong>. Light came into the upper room through a large rectangular window topped by an architrave and with a small by-pass window. <strong>Along the jambs and on the architrave <\/strong>of this large window is a<strong> recess to hold a lithic or wooden door<\/strong>, guaranteed via a forked stick which was poked into three holes, two on the right and one on the left, carried out on the jambs.<\/p>\n<p>On the trunk road SP 33 from Borore towards Ottana, take the cutoff for Silanus. Turn left after 300 m onto a paved road and continue for 2.8 km, passing the flow of the Rio Murtazzolu.
