{"id":29534,"date":"2023-08-03T11:40:41","date_gmt":"2023-08-03T09:40:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/place\/la-cinta\/"},"modified":"2023-08-09T13:51:13","modified_gmt":"2023-08-09T11:51:13","slug":"la-cinta","status":"publish","type":"place","link":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/en\/place\/la-cinta\/","title":{"rendered":"La Cinta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>La Cinta<\/strong> beach extends lengthwise in an arch for about <strong>four kilometres<\/strong>, north of the town of <strong>San Teodoro<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The beach has a fine white sand with crystal clear waters and no rocky seabed.<br \/>\nA long <strong>dune belt<\/strong> separates the beach from the <strong>pond<\/strong> behind, a genuine <strong>natural asset<\/strong> to the area. The sandy stretch which makes up the <strong>low dunes<\/strong> mainly features <strong>vegetation<\/strong> known as \u201c<strong>Pioneer<\/strong>\u201d. This is mostly <strong>\u201cPsammophile\u201d herbaceous species<\/strong> (which grow on the sand) such as the <strong>European searocket<br \/>\n<\/strong> or <strong>Ammophila arenaria<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Stagno di San Teodoro<\/strong>, behind the large <strong>La Cinta <\/strong>beach is of <strong>significant environmental importance<\/strong>, as a resting, overwintering and reproduction spot for <strong>numerous species of aquatic birds<\/strong>, many of which fall within international protection. Another important aspect is the presence of <strong>\u201chalophyte\u201d plant species<\/strong> (which grow in the presence of seawater or saline terrain) like, for example, the <strong>spiny rush<\/strong> and the <strong>sea rush<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Undoubtedly, due to these characteristics, the pond can be considered as the most <strong>important wetland<\/strong> on the northeastern coast of the island. The overall extension of the basins is around 230 hectares, 32 of which taken up by the Pescaia basin.<\/p>\n<p>The entire area, pond, backshore and underwater beach are part of the <strong>Site of Community Importance<\/strong> (SCI) \u201c<strong>Stagno di San Teodoro<\/strong>\u201d (ITB010011), regulated by <strong>Rete Natura 2000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The SCI also covers a <strong>part at sea<\/strong> aimed at enhancing and protecting the presence of the <strong>Mediterranean tapeweed meadow<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The beach is easy to reach from the town of San Teodoro and offers full services: parking, tourist information point, bar, beach equipment hire etc.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":6,"featured_media":8175,"template":"","tipologia":[988],"categoria":[1022],"tematica":[1031],"class_list":["post-29534","place","type-place","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","tipologia-spiaggia-en","categoria-naturalistic-asset","tematica-nature"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.13 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>La Cinta - Idese<\/title>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1\" \/>\n<link rel=\"canonical\" href=\"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/en\/place\/la-cinta\/\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"en_GB\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"La Cinta - Idese\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"The La Cinta beach extends lengthwise in an arch for about four kilometres, north of the town of San Teodoro.
