{"id":29448,"date":"2023-07-26T13:00:42","date_gmt":"2023-07-26T11:00:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/place\/spiaggia-di-solanas\/"},"modified":"2023-09-15T13:06:09","modified_gmt":"2023-09-15T11:06:09","slug":"spiaggia-di-solanas","status":"publish","type":"place","link":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/en\/place\/spiaggia-di-solanas\/","title":{"rendered":"Spiaggia di Solanas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The beach of <strong>Solanas<\/strong> lies in the district of the same name in the countryside around the <strong>municipality of Sinnai<\/strong> (Cagliari).<\/p>\n<p>The beach is <strong>less than 1 km long<\/strong> and is enclosed in a bay between the promontories of <strong>Capo Boi<\/strong>, to the southeast and <strong>Punta Porto Perdosu<\/strong> (to the northwest). The <strong>Rio Solanas<\/strong> flows into the <strong>southeastern<\/strong> sector of the beach, a river mostly subject to seasonal change which often, especially in recent years, has caused <strong>flood plains<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Still in the <strong>southern<\/strong> sector, we find an imposing <strong>sand dune<\/strong> at the end of the beach, which lies on the side of the <strong>Capo Boi promontory<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThis sector is part of the <strong>Sites of Community Importance <\/strong>(SCI) \u201c<strong>Costa di Cagliari<\/strong>\u201d (ITB040021), regulated by the <strong>Rete Natura 2000<\/strong>, which includes the <strong>entire Capo Boi promontory<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThe <strong>geology<\/strong> of the area is dominated by the presence of <strong>granite<\/strong>, <strong>flood plain deposits<\/strong> and <strong>large-grain sandy beach<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThe <strong>vegetation<\/strong> is typical of marine areas and <strong>coastal promontories<\/strong>, in formations of bushes and garigues. There are bushes of <strong>rockrose<\/strong>, <strong>Mastic tree<\/strong>, <strong>euphorbia<\/strong> and <strong>juniper<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Particularly noteworthy is the presence of the <strong>Phoenician juniper<\/strong>, a protected species and of important naturalistic significance.
