{"id":29305,"date":"2023-07-14T15:05:08","date_gmt":"2023-07-14T13:05:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/place\/pedra-longa\/"},"modified":"2023-07-18T12:59:28","modified_gmt":"2023-07-18T10:59:28","slug":"pedra-longa","status":"publish","type":"place","link":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/en\/place\/pedra-longa\/","title":{"rendered":"Pedra Longa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Perda Longa<\/strong> (or <em>Pedra Longa<\/em>) is a <strong>Natural Monument<\/strong> situated in the coastal area of <strong>Baunei<\/strong>.<br \/>\nIt is a <strong>peak of limestone rock<\/strong> standing at <strong>128 m a.s.l<\/strong>. and faces out towards the sea.<\/p>\n<p>From a <strong>geological<\/strong> point of view, Pedra Longa is a <strong>block of limestone-Dolomite rock<\/strong>, and an integral part of the vast tableland of Baunei, which broke off during an ancient landslide phenomenon.<\/p>\n<p>From a <strong>flora<\/strong> point of view, while not being well known for its vegetation, the promontory hosts <strong>wild olive<\/strong> and <strong>carob<\/strong> plants as well as typical essences of <strong>Mediterranean shrub<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>At the bottom of the rock, we find a small pebble and rock beach. The seabed features tablelands of rock with <strong>crystal clear water<\/strong>. Alongside flow the <strong>Cascate di Baus<\/strong> where, according to popular belief, the Saracens prepared a failed raid on <strong>Santa Maria Navarrese<\/strong> (mid-XIX century).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pedra Longa<\/strong> can be considered the start of the spectacular <strong>coastal stretch<\/strong> in the Baunei area. Its covers over 40 km of coastline, with high <strong>limestone rocks<\/strong>, <strong>small beaches<\/strong> and <strong>crystal-clear waters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The site sits not far from other <strong>natural monuments<\/strong> known as the <strong>Olivastri di Santa Maria Navarrese<\/strong>, the chasm of <strong>Su Sterru &#8211; Il Golgo<\/strong> and <strong>Punta Goloritz\u00e9<\/strong>. There are also a number of <strong>coastal caves<\/strong> in the area.<\/p>\n<p>The most delightful way to reach it is undoubtedly along the paths which, from the mountain, slope down towards the coast. This monument is the starting point for the &#8220;<strong>Selvaggio blu&#8221;<\/strong>.
