{"id":29114,"date":"2023-06-21T17:01:13","date_gmt":"2023-06-21T15:01:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/place\/cala-coticcio\/"},"modified":"2023-06-21T17:01:13","modified_gmt":"2023-06-21T15:01:13","slug":"cala-coticcio","status":"publish","type":"place","link":"https:\/\/idese.cultura.gov.it\/en\/place\/cala-coticcio\/","title":{"rendered":"Cala Coticcio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Cala Coticcio<\/strong> is in the <strong>north-west of the island of Caprera<\/strong>, in the <strong>archipelago of La Maddalena<\/strong>, in <strong>northern Sardinia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>cove<\/strong> is one <strong>of the most attractive in the Archipelago<\/strong>, so much so that it has earned the <strong>nickname of \u201c<em>Tahiti<\/em>\u201d<\/strong>, for its resemblance to the <strong>famous Polynesian beach<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>cove<\/strong> has <strong>two sandy shores<\/strong>, separated by <strong>red coloured granite rock<\/strong>, the same ones surrounding the entire bay. The <strong>sand is fine<\/strong> and is a <strong>clear, translucent colour<\/strong>, an uninterrupted continuation of crystal-clear shades of the sea<\/strong>. The seabed is shallow and the waters are calm and protected against the wind.<\/p>\n<p>Around the cove grows <strong>luxuriant Mediterranean shrub<\/strong> with <strong>juniper<\/strong>, <strong>rockrose<\/strong>, <strong>the Mastic tree<\/strong> and <strong>heather<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The cove is part of <strong>Zone A<\/strong> of the <strong>Parco Nazionale Arcipelago di La Maddalena<\/strong> and is covered by a <strong>full environmental protection order<\/strong>. Swimming is allowed but fishing is forbidden.
