The current-day building of worship built in the <strong>XVII century A.D.<\/strong> replaced the previous Medieval church probably built between the XI and the XII centuries A.D.<\/p>\n<p>The church was originally built on the ruins of <strong>Roman baths<\/strong>, most likely dating from the <strong>III century A.D.<\/strong> and a part of this structure was used for the church. The <strong>majestic ruins<\/strong> mean the imperial layout is still clearly visible. In particular, one of the side walls is preserved next to the church facade, <strong>as far up as the shutter on the barrel vaults<\/strong>. Built making use of bricks and limestone blocks, they may have been re-used in the Medieval church.
